The 1ST Trainers Encounter Regional level yields another pride to STI College Balayan when one of its instructors Engr. Jay Ilagan received the silver medal award in Computer Hardware Servicing category last Sept. 31, 2010 held at the Lyceum of Batangas.
The 1ST Trainers Encounter is an event which was the first of its kind under TESDA which aims to showcase the expertise of the trainers in their line of specialization and to instill self-esteem and pride among trainers. Last September 29, competitors who are trainers from different vocational schools, colleges and universities in Batangas heralded its opening during the motorcade. The event was joined by 38 trainers competing in 10 different categories and the winners were awarded a medal, cash price and were also granted a National Certificate Level III qualification in their field.
The TESDA Reginal Director Teodoro Gatchalian commended the trainers’ technical expertise and in diligently training students to become globally competitive in their field which made our country proud.
