Go Cadets! Go!

Being the first STI campus offering ROTC Course, 31 cadets of 380th Affiliate NROTCU of STI College Balayan bring honor and pride to the whole STI family as they successfully completed the prescribed Program of Instruction (POI) for Sea Water Search and Rescue Operation Training held at Nasugbu Beach Park, Nasugbu, Batangas, March 26 & April 4-5.

Together with their adviser Msgt. Jose Arnel Dimaano PN (RES) and Drill Instructor Domingo Abiad PN (M) RET, the cadets which consist of 25 navy and 6 marines tra
veled all along from Balayan in order to join the activity. 

Equipped with perseverance and determination to finish the training in line with their Military Science 2 program, the cadets showed off their unity, cooperation, teamwork , leadership and discipline in this 3-day event to overcome the hardship of acquiring the necessary life saving and basic swimming skills and techniques as well as the marine rubber boat handling and familiarization.

Spearheaded by Maj. Fidel I Macatangay PN (M) and Col. Joselito C. Gacutan PN (M) (GSC) of the Philippine Navy, Naval Reserve Command, Naval Reserve Center –Southern Luzon with the aided assistant and support from the Marine Special Operations Group (MASOG), who incorporated their knowledge to the cadets by lecture and demonstration method, the training went through out smoothly. 

In the end, Team STI with other students taking up ROTC from various schools in Batangas received Certificate of Completion as a reward for their unwavering effort rendered for the success of the training.
