NSTP plants in Taal

STI students tree planting in Taal
The NSTP students of STI College Balayan joined the tree planting headed by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources when they invited the schools and colleges in Balayan to rehabilitate Taal volcano last December 2011.

One hundred sixty STI student volunteers and the Student Council of Leaders with their NSTP Advisers Ms. Alejandra Cosme, Mr. Victoriano Perez III, Mr. Carlo Ambagan and Ms. Marilou Bautista joined the tree planting activities held in San Nicolas, Batangas which lies in the coast of Taal.  Each students and teachers were required to plant 10 mahogany seedlings.

Jaime Lopez, 1st BSCoE student said that it was fun to join such activity that would help restore denuded forest in Taal. They also enjoyed hiking and riding the motorboat to reach the area and have a good view of the Taal Lake.

Ms. Cosme also added that it was a tiring day but being with the students who considered it fun and very much willing to help restoring trees in Taal Lake make it all worthwhile.
